Chemical Analysis Instruments:

QC Laboratory

Chemical Laboratory provides comprehensive chemical analysis including qualitative and quantitative analysis, chemical composition..

Total Organic Carbon Analyzer – (TOC)

  • Total Organic Carbon Analyzer – (TOC): It is the equipment to measures the total amount of organic carbon in liquid or water samples.
  • In the applications of the metal surface treatment field, it is necessary to identify oil contamination in degreasing tanks, water rinse or other treatment tanks by determining the total amount of carbon in the sample. Base on the TOC result, we can also identify some other organic impurities that can get into the tank during use.

Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS)

  • Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) is a spectroanalytical procedure for the quantitative determination of chemical elements using the absorption of optical radiation (light) by free atoms in the gaseous state. Atomic absorption spectroscopy is based on absorption of light by free metallic ions.
  • Application of AAS in VPH Lab: Used to determine the content of metal elements in chemical treatment tanks with high accuracy (ppm) such as: Zinc (Zn), Nikel (Ni), Manganese (Mn ), Iron (Fe), Calcium (Ca), Copper (Cu)…

Scanning electron microscope (SEM)

  • A scanning electron microscope (SEM) is a type of electron microscope that produces images of a sample by scanning the surface with a focused beam of electrons.
  • Application of SEM at VPH Lab: Recording microstructure image of steel product surface in phosphating process (SEM image).

X-Ray Fluroscence (XRF)

  • X-Ray Fluroscence (XRF): Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence technology (ED-XRF) provides one of the simplest, most accurate and most economic analytical methods for the determination of the chemical composition of many types of materials. It is non-destructive and reliable, requires no, or very little, sample preparation and is suitable for solid(Steel, Aluminum and plastic). It can be used for a wide range of elements, from Oxigen to Uranium , and provides detection limits at the sub-ppm level; it can also measure concentrations of up to 100% easily and simultaneously.
  • Application of XRF at VPH Lab: Zn, Ni, Mn coating weight on SPCC. P, Ni, Mn on GA and Zr, P, Cr coating weight on Aluminum.
